Leadership of this fall
As the last term before the graduation, I could do many group activities to achieve the group assignment including the class of the Introduction to Corporate Security and Organizational Behavior. It makes me take into account the leadership sincerely.
According to some research about organizational behavior, the main job for the leader is Consideration and Initiating structure. The former means the consideration of other member, especially the member with poor performance and the latter means the action that prepares the future direction of the work and motivate the members to achieve the group goal.
When it comes to the Initiating structure, I have the strong point as the leader. For the OB assignment, we have nine people including three freshmen and one international student. The first job is the separation of the entire homework. For the first homework, I just said, “each person should study and prepare all the parts”. When getting together, it caused the hole of the preparation which means that some parts are ignored. For the prevention of that hole, I’ve assigned two or three questions out of usually nine questions into the small group including two or three people. Although some guy is absent from the group discussion, there would be no dangers for completing the project.
About the Security class, I must be a lucky leader. All men are very active and talented. Except some jobs for me to prepare the prototype of the document, all the tasks are high quality and highly distributed. For the second and last homework, we’ve got together in my room of dormitory and after eight hours we could finish it satisfactory. There was only one personal meeting for term project! It is due on 14th, December but we’ve terminated it before two weeks of due. What a great synergy it is!
Even though the main reason of my leading job is from my age, I’m proud my group and my achievement as a leader during this semester. Along with that, I could concentrate on my studying and reading books. I’m highly satisfied with this fall semester.
